I don't know if we talk enough about leadership when we talk politics.

I wonder if it's because we have given up on the idea.

Public service is more than a job. It is a calling. In public service, a small number of people are trusted with taking care of the money that all the people pay them for the benefit of our shared society.

We can ask them about specific ways they want to spend it for specific things we care about. Or we can trust that, because of their character and the way they conduct themselves in life and in politics, they will look at all the important factors and make good decisions that are in the long-term interests of our community.

Voting for one or two issues this election? Or voting for someone you truly believe in? Everyone has that choice.
